School Fundraisers
By Alvaro Olivella and Shema Kamau
Last year in 2013 we had a fundraiser that got us $13,000. This year the Fun Run Fundraiser is back and our goal is $15,000.
We sat down and talked with The Head Chief (Aka Mrs. Frey) she said, “we have high expectations because we have more students in the school.” We then asked her who chose the idea. She responded saying that she came up with the idea. After that response, we asked her why she chose the idea, she said, “I wanted the kids in the school to remember their principal sleeping on the roof.” Oh, we forgot to tell you that she will be wearing a harness. So, it will be completely safe.
We will be raising the money for STEM resources and equipment, so

Christmas Concert
Did you go to the KCSMA Christmas Concert on December 16, 2014? For those who didn’t, here’s a brief overview.
Some of the songs that were sang were “Christmas Star”, “Havah Nagilah”, “Kwanzaa”, and “Dona Nobis Pacem”. But some of the chorus students sang their own individual songs. Some include “Jingle Bells”, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman”, and “All I Want for Christmas”.
“It was really fun,” said Mrs. Sullivan, the Chorus teacher. “It showed how hard the students worked for this. I think they enjoyed it too.”
This spring, Mrs. Sullivan is planning to have a theme of, “How to Build a Better World”. If anyone is really interested in joining chorus, you can always talk to Mrs. Sullivan. Who knows? You might be part of the next Chorus Concert!
